How Are Airlines Able to Offer Cheap Business Class Flights?

 


Business class travel is expensive as compared to the economy or premium economy class of travel. The airline charges more from the passengers of this class of travel because of the certain extra privileges and benefits it provides to the passengers. These benefits are generally in the form of the extra seating and legroom space, more entertainment options, more private space, better in-cabin services, access to lounges, priority check-in, free and more check-in baggage and other services. The concept of having a business class is essentially rooted in the need of the business people for having working environment when they are flying, and which is not possible in the economy class cabins. This meant faster access to flight and more comfortable air travel.

Since the price of air tickets for the business class is more than the economy class, there is always room for the airline to reduce the prices depending on a number of factors, chief among which is the inability to fill all seats at optimum level which brings maximum profit. Another important factor which determines the ability of the airline to offer cheap business class flights is its willingness, or rather a policy decision, to completely fill the seats or to fly with somewhat empty seats. You must be wondering why airline would resort to flying with empty seats. The answer is simple. Because it would not want the people to develop the habit of waiting till the fag end of every flight in expectation of best discounts.

Another reason for the airline to offer the discounts on published prices is to provide its main booking agencies the chances to earn more from passengers even after giving them the discount. So, that is why the agencies do hold special business class airfares from various airlines and making reservations from the agencies can get you better fares.

Regular deals and discounts are definitely beneficial. However, you need to be alert to the time period when these are generally offered. Else, you have to set up alerts and reminders for the same.
