Winter Comes, Brings Waivers and Cancellations of Flights

 


Winter season in United States has its own peculiarities. When it comes to air travel, the passengers face most of the hassles. Whenever they plan to fly during the winters, they also have to prepare themselves mentally for cancellations or modifications in the itinerary. Booking air tickets in this season is not to the liking of the people but the biggest holidays of the year also fall in this season, therefore, travel is inevitable as well. The course forward is to enter the realm of uncertainty of weather and pray that all remains good for the flights.

With climate change, the severity of extreme seasons is increasing by the year. Winter storms in USA, which are predictable phenomenon of this season, are becoming unpredictable and increasing in severity. The year 2022 is no different. The winter “bomb cyclone” is here for this year as well. The airlines have already started cancelling their tickets. As many as 6000 or more flights have already been cancelled by the airline companies and these have begun to often the waivers on cancellation of tickets. It is customary by the airline companies to cancel tickets without any charge during this season when travelling is not feasible at all and the flights have to be cancelled. While cancellations are of 6000 flights, 21000 flights have been delayed as well.
