Why Shall You Make Searches for Cheap Flight Tickets Online from Multiple Sources?

Everyone wants to have the lowest fare air tickets. Whether flying domestic or international, and in economy, business or first class, passengers do search for the cheapest fares. While this little bit of research is important to find the fares, it is also of significance that you make searches on different websites. Why? The answer to this has much to do with the way the aggregators have the contracts from the airlines and how these are distributed to the agencies.

If you have made searches for cheap flight tickets online, you would have found that certain flights are common on most of the pages whereas certain others are present on some and missing on others. So, the number of contracts available with a particular website might be limited. Since these contracts are fetched by the API calls from the providers, different API providers might be having different contractors.

The limitations can also be imposed at the level of the agency itself. It might not want to show all the contracts it is getting from the supplier. This again depends on the business strategy of the agency. It might be looking for revenue optimization wherein a balance between the number of tickets booked and revenue has to be struck so that maximum return on investment can be gained. So, there might be one agency that might be willing to show more contracts from the low cost carriers, to gain more customers. On the other hand, there might be an agency which is more selective and would want to earn more by showing the full-service carrier fares.

There is, of course, a difference in price level as well. Due to the dynamic pricing of the tickets, there is always some leverage given to the agencies to set up their own profit levels. This creates the difference in prices of different tickets from different suppliers.

So, both due to the number of contracts available and the different prices of tickets, it is always a good idea by the passengers to perform searches on more than one website. Are you also doing the same?
